Omaha Education Committee January 2026
Meeting Notes:
January 2026
AAN Education Committee Meeting
Committee Roles:
Staying on task. We have a lot to cover and a short amount of time to do it!
New ideas always welcome.
Featured Vendors are VERY important. Take some off of Steihl’s plate. Sponsors for Education Events. $350 in Q1, $400 going forward. 40-50 people for lunch. Online marketing on the website. Time to speak with the group before the education event. Stay for the event. Hand out swag. Mingle. And receive a list of attendees. Pay online or via check. Prefer Featured Vendors should be AAN members, but not required. Co-sponsors are allowed.
What do suppliers ask when being approached for being a Featured Vendor? Content of the class. Number of attendees. Align the content with the vendor if possible.
Omaha sold out 11 out of 12 classes last year.
“No recruiting” at the AAN. Safe place for education.
Advocate and share education events. Encourage coworkers and contacts in the industry to attend.
Committee members are expected to attend at least 50% of all education events. Committee members will be asked to rethink committee involvement if they miss 2 committee meetings.
Committee meetings will be scheduled for the same day as education events. Alternatives will be discussed as needed.
Education Event Day Responsibilities:
Welcome & Check-In: Check in attendees and point them in the right direction
