Fire Inspector, Lincoln Fire and Rescue-City of Lincoln, NE.

Brad Hassenjaeger: 

Grills-inform tenants of apartments and apartment managers and owners of what is legally allowed by the City of Lincoln Ordinances according to the International Fire Code 2018 (IFC 2018). Fines for violation start at $200 per day plus court cost (about another $50). Each day of the violation is considered a separate incident and fines per incident increase $50 per instance.

Knox Boxes-are now required for required for apartment buildings with restricted access such as locked doors or locked gate, buildings that are secured or has restricted access and it’s imperative that the fire apartment gains immediate access. Location of the knocks box to be within 10 feet of the main entry that has the fire alarm annunciator panel, gate approximately 5 to 6 feet above grade. IFC 506

Jeff Soukup Bio: 

Jeff Soukup has over twenty-five years of experience in public health program planning, evaluation, training, technical assistance and policy development primarily in the area of health promotion and education.  Jeff is currently the tobacco policy educator for the Tobacco Free Nebraska program and provides technical assistance on a number of tobacco initiatives including implantation of smoke-free housing policy.
