The Trade Show Committee develops plans to maximize the venue, organization, and industry publicity of the annual October AAN Trade Show. They help promote the event, sell vendor booths, organize the layout, and make sure the show is beneficial to both the apartment communities and to our supplier members.
The Trade Show is a major highlight event. It offers both the customer and the seller the opportunity to see each other in a relaxed atmosphere outside the office or place of business. The show puts many products and services in one location so that people in our industry can go to one place rather than all over town to see and examine various products services. The show offers the apartment industry a great opportunity for camaraderie and the creative exchange of ideas with other people in the industry. Industry representatives can see the latest and newest innovations, products and services available.
There is definitely something there for every person in the multi-housing industry.
Education is one of the cornerstones of the AAN and as times change, our courses change to meet the current environment. From marketing, leasing & management to maintenance classes, we endeavor to offer something for everyone in the multi-housing industry.
An educated and well-trained staff will help you to ensure success at your communities and help in both employee and resident retention. Get your staff started on the road to success!
The Community Relations Committee works to increase the AAN's presence in the surrounding community and promote positive relations with the community at large. The committee supports non-profit organizations that create a positive impact on the community. The team helps to collect charitable donations and also volunteers their time throughout the year for causes we are passionate about including the Open Door Mission and the Lydia House Diaper Drive.
The AAN is dedicated to keeping our members informed about new and proposed laws in Nebraska while fighting to protect the rights of rental property owners. Because policies of the municipalities changes so often, it is nearly impossible for property owners to keep abreast on the new laws. Governmental Affairs is one of the major keys to the success of the AAN. Even when the Nebraska Legislature is not in session, our team is working harder than ever for you. AAN tracks new legislative activity and translates it into understandable and concise language.
This committee forms the important tasks of obtaining quality new members and retaining existing members. Its members develop and execute strategies for member recruiting, orientation, and retention - including direct contact and follow-up with prospects and current members. This group organizes membership drives and additional networking opportunities within budget constraints.
Maintenance Mania is a national program offered by NAA and presenting sponsor HD Supply (HDS), in which maintenance technicians compete against each other in various skill-based games such as installation of ceiling fans, water tanks, icemakers, and fluidmasters. The competitors also build a race car out of 3 common maintenance materials. Local competitors have a chance to compete at the National Championship held at the annual NAA Education Conference & Exposition. Maintenance Mania is a fast paced, exciting event that is lots of fun and really gives your maintenance technicians a time to shine!
Stars of Excellence
The annual Stars of Excellence was created to recognize and honor those top-achievers working in the multi-family industry for their outstanding work. The committee creates categories and encourages nominations among the apartment industry companies. The nominees are judged and the winners selected by local business leaders in the Omaha area. The Stars Of Excellence is one of our biggest events where the industry comes together in a ballroom, dressed to perfection, and ready to be dined and entertained throughout the awards ceremony.
The Supplier Council is designed to ensure each apartment industry supplier is getting the most from their membership. We hold annual meeting with our Supplier members to find out what we as an association can improve upon and what we can keep doing. Our committee also ensures that all supplier members are listed on our Supplier List on the website each year. All supplier are encouraged to join.
